Bribie Island is one of three major sand islands that shelter part of Moreton Bay in Queensland. It is the only island in Queensland connected to the mainland by bridge. Bribie Island is a wildlife sanctuary with two main bird watching sites in Kakadu Beach and Buckley’s Hole. Buckley’s Hole Conservation Park includes a freshwater lagoon, open forest woodland, and beach.
